Widgets and modules of the Knowledge Portal
Articles list
Widget "Articles List" is a unified interface for presenting a list of information materials stored in the Knowledge Portal.
Functional tasks of the module:
- Create, modify, and publish materials in a web-article format;
- Manage access to materials in accordance with organizational and role characteristics of users;
- Multi-criteria filtering of materials;
- Archiving of obsolete materials;
- Ability to add content in user's "Favorites";
- Managing document versions;
- Commenting and rating of articles;
- Creating links between web-articles and other materials, such as documents stored in the portal file system.
Search and classifier
For quick search of web-articles, users can access hierarchical filters by classifiers of materials, as well as standard and advanced versions of text search.
Search Features:
- Full-text search for all attributes: title and content of the article, names of related materials, tags, categories;
- Search by the specified period of creation, modification or archiving of the material;
- Highlighting found words in search results;
- Filtering materials by hierarchical classifier;
- Taking into account Russian morphology: search results will include not only materials with the given word form in the query, but also in other numbers and cases;
- Ability to specify the exact form of a word or phrase;
- Ability to specify required words and exclude materials containing a specific word.
News
"News" Widget is designed to work with news materials and provides opportunities:
- Create and publish news with access level control;
- Managing the modes of displaying materials in the news widget and the scrolling line in header;
- Managing the signs of urgency and must-read settings;
- Managing news display schedule;
- Archiving of obsolete news stories;
- Counting of user views of news stories;
- Commenting and rating.
Glossary
The widget is designed to create a vocabulary of terms used by authors in texts of information materials. Its functionality allows you to create a definition for any term and specify options for using this term in the text, for example, options for its declension. The system scans the texts of all web-articles and automatically add a pop-up hint with definition to each mention of the term. To see the definition of the term in the article, the reader needs only to mouse-hover the word.
Read reports
The widget is designed to provide reports about users who have read or not read a web-article of Knowledge Portal.
In this report, for each material, you can see:
- Who looked at it and who did not (from among those to whom this material is available);
- Who put a mark about reading the selected material (for must-read materials).
Polls
The widget is designed to create user questionnaires, set up polling rules, taking into account organizational and role characteristics of users and providing reports on polls.
Module Features:
- Flexible creation of questionnaires from various types of questions. Add and manage order of questions with drag-and-drop;
- Multiple pass option;
- Anonymous pass option;
- A general statistical report showing the percentage of choice for a particular answer;
- Report on the completion of the questionnaire by selected user.
Organizations map
The widget is designed to display the structure of the company's territorial network on a geographic map. Objects are displayed as labels. When you mouse-hover the label, you can read short information about the object. By clicking the label, you can be redirected to a personalized website of the object within Knowledge Portal. Own site can be created for each unit of the territorial network. On this site it is possible to create unique content according to object's specifics.
Types of materials in the Knowledge Portal
Articles
Article contains data in HTML format. Article creation/editing interface supports the following functions:
- Adding synonyms for article headings for searching not only for the main header, but also for additional headers;
- Editing the content of the article through a wysiwyg-editor;
- Inserting icons from a catalog integrated into the wysiwyg-editor panel;
- Inserting buttons into the content of the article;
- Adding blocks with collapsible/expandable text;
- Add tables with the following options:
- Fix the first row of the table, which is larger than the screen size and requires scrolling when viewing it;
- Enable filtering function of the table by matching a substring entered by the user with the contents of the cells of the specified column.
- Importing article content from docx- and xlsx- files;
- Making article "must-read";
- Enabling the user to send an article to some e-mail address;
- Enable the function to post questions and comments to users who are responsible for the content of the article;
- Specify the time period for displaying the article and the date of automatic backup.
Documents
Documents in Knowledge Portal display uploaded files. Document creation/editing interface provides the following functions:
- Select the folder to store the document;
- Ability to specify the name of the document;
- Selecting the file to upload;
- Ability to specify a document description;
- Managing document versions;
- View automatically retrieved metadata;
- For plain text documents, there is a version comparison option;
- View the document directly in the Knowledge Portal interface;
- Ability to download document;
- Export the document to other formats.
Scripting
Scripting in the Knowledge Portal is designed to create interactive scripts (instructions) for user actions in the context of some business tasks, for example, phone consultancy. Scripts are created in a simple visual editor in drag-and-drop format.
Working with scripting provides the following options:
- Managing the script by creating a non-linear algorithm in the graphics editor;
- Insert HTML-content into the step/question description through a wysiwyg-editor;
- Set the script display period and the date of automatic backup;
- Interactive playback of the script from the first step/question;
- Ability to select any of the branches specified in the algorithm (options for answering a question or an action performed);
- The ability to change the selection at any time at any step.
